We proudly celebrated the grand opening of Montessori Academy’s Early Learning Centre in Randwick on Saturday, 1st March 2025. The event welcomed over 500 guests for a joyous occasion filled with community spirit, exploration, and excitement.
The day began with tours of our brand-new facilities, culminating in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to officially mark the opening. Special guests, including MP Matt Thistlethwaite (Assistant Minister for Immigration), Dr. Marjorie O’Neill (Parliamentary Secretary from the Department of Transport), Mayor Dylan Parker (Randwick City Council), and Father Pat Mara (Sacred Heart Parish), shared inspiring remarks on the profound impact of early education in shaping children’s futures.
Our founder, Colette said, “Montessori education is more than just knowledge; it’s about building character, acts of kindness, and service”. As families explored the centre, they discovered a thoughtfully designed learning environment featuring five spacious classrooms – each dedicated to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, as well as three vibrant outdoor playgrounds. Every space has been carefully crafted to foster engaging learning experiences that nurture children’s growth and development.
About Randwick Montessori Academy
Randwick Montessori Academy officially commenced operations on February 19, 2025. Following a multi-million-dollar investment, Randwick’s iconic Newmarket House has been transformed into a purpose-built Montessori early learning environment, catering for up to 86 children across five classrooms and creating 25 local jobs. The redevelopment preserves the heritage-listed Victorian architecture while introducing a stunning two-story wing, basement parking, and beautifully landscaped play areas designed to inspire exploration and independence.
Our dedicated educators and Family Care Team were available throughout the day to answer questions, showcase our specialised Montessori materials, and highlight our unique approach to fostering creativity and independence in young learners.
For the little ones, the event was packed with fun-filled Montessori-based activities. Children enjoyed face painting, live interaction with ponies and balloon art, adding a creative spark to the celebrations. Our official sporting partner, IFA Sports, hosted an engaging fitness session, encouraging kids to stay active while having a fantastic time.
Guests also indulged in a delicious selection of fresh oven baked pizza and gelato. The combination of great food, lively entertainment, and warm community spirit made for a truly memorable celebration as families connected and created lasting memories.
