Montessori is a child-centred approach to early education developed by Dr Maria Montessori and used around the world for more than 100 years.

Unlike traditional childcare, where children often move through the same activities at the same time, Montessori allows each child to learn at their own pace within a carefully prepared environment. Children choose from purposeful, hands-on materials designed to teach specific skills and concepts, while educators observe, guide and introduce new challenges when each child is ready.

The approach places a strong emphasis on independence, concentration, confidence, problem-solving and intrinsic motivation. Children are encouraged to participate in real-life tasks, make meaningful choices and take increasing responsibility for themselves and their environment.

Mixed-age classrooms also support peer learning, with younger children learning through observation and older children strengthening their knowledge by modelling skills for others.

The result is an environment that supports both academic learning and the development of capable, confident and independent children.

Our early learning programs are designed for children from six weeks to six years, with age-specific environments and learning experiences tailored to each stage of development.

Infants are supported through nurturing routines, movement, sensory exploration and early independence. Toddlers build practical life skills, language, coordination, concentration and confidence through hands-on Montessori learning. Preschool children progress into more advanced literacy, mathematics, culture, science and school readiness experiences, while continuing to strengthen independence, social skills and problem-solving.

Yes. All Montessori Academy childcare centres are approved CCS providers. Eligible families can reduce their fees by up to 90%, making premium Montessori education accessible to more families across NSW.

Yes. A centre tour is an important part of the enrolment journey, giving you the opportunity to experience our prepared environments, meet the team and ask the questions that matter most to your family before confirming your child’s place.

Click Visit on your preferred centre card to open the centre page. From there, select Book a Tour, enter your details and choose an available time.

Tours are offered Monday to Friday and take approximately 30–45 minutes. You’ll meet the Centre Manager, explore the classrooms and discover how the Montessori curriculum supports your child’s learning and development.

Yes. All Montessori Academy centres are assessed by ACECQA (Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority) and consistently rated Meeting or Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS).
