Montessori Academy has entered into an agreement to acquire 9 Edge Early Learning services across Queensland and South Australia, bringing its established approach to safe, high-quality early childhood education and care to more children, families and communities.
Pending essential regulatory and transition requirements, we look forward to welcoming:
Queensland: Bilinga, Crestmead, North Harbour, North Pimpama, Nundah and Pimpama
South Australia: Port Adelaide, Seaford Heights and Strathalbyn (Braemar Drive)
The agreement follows Edge Early Learning’s entry into voluntary administration in August and represents an important opportunity to provide greater certainty and continuity for children, families and educators across the services.
With more than 25 years of experience and over 70 services across Australia, Montessori Academy will bring its expertise in Montessori education, child safeguarding, and strong governance to support the future of the centres.
Montessori Academy Director and Co-Founder Colette Assaf said the agreement represented an important opportunity to provide stability for families and educators, strengthen the long-term future of the services and extend access to Montessori Academy’s distinctive approach to early education.
“We recognise this has been a period of uncertainty for families and educators. Our focus is on providing stability and continuity, supporting high standards of safety, quality and education, and being of genuine service to the communities these services support,” Mrs Assaf said.
Montessori Academy will work closely with each service to understand its individual strengths, preserve strong local relationships and build on quality and safety practices.
The organisation will introduce its established child safeguarding and quality assurance systems, alongside investment in leadership, professional development and training to strengthen educator capability and educational outcomes.
“Our priority is to build on the strengths of these services and invest in their future, ensuring educators have the training, resources and support to deliver the highest standards of education and care,” Mrs Assaf said.
“Above all, we want families to have confidence that their children are in safe, nurturing and enriching learning environments that give them the strongest possible foundations for school and life.”
The agreement follows a due diligence process and engagement with the Administrator, Regulators, Governments and relevant stakeholders.
Completion remains subject to applicable regulatory and transition requirements, including the transfer of service approvals and leases. Montessori Academy will continue working closely with regulators, families and educators to support a smooth and orderly transition, with the best interests of children at the centre of every decision.
