Earlwood Montessori Academy Host Grand Opening Event

On Saturday 1st April, Montessori Academy opened its doors to host the grand opening of its Earlwood child care centre located at 32 Fricourt Avenue, Earlwood.

The highly anticipated grand opening event was attended by the Hon John Ajaka, President of the NSW Legislative Council, the Hon Linda Burney, Member for Barton, Father Peter Carroll, and more than 500 guests from the local community.

Guests were amazed when they entered the service to see a tremendous shark tank, full scale pirate ship play area, veggie patch, mud kitchen, wooden cubby house, and five beautifully crafted Montessori classrooms.

Director of Montessori Academy, Colette Assaf, said: “As you look around our Earlwood campus, I hope that you can see the love, care, and commitment that has gone into establishing this unique early learning service. I look forward to meeting all our new families as we embark on this exciting new chapter that is the beginning of Montessori education.

“It will be our greatest joy to see our students thrive in the Montessori environment, and work towards achieving their full potential, under the guidance of our teachers. Thank you for providing us with this wonderful opportunity, and for entrusting us with the care and education of your children.”

Most unique about Earlwood Montessori Academy is the service’s ocean themed design, which was developed by Liskowski Architects, and constructed by Unicorn Building. The theme is reflective of the building’s history as an Ex-Servicemen’s Club, and honors the many Australian’s who never made it back to shore post World War II.

The Hon John Ajaka, said: “Throughout my career I’ve seen a lot of early learning services, and this service truly exceeds expectation. When I first arrived, I said wow. As I continued to look around, I kept saying ‘wow.’ This is truly an amazing early learning facility that will enrich the community of Earlwood.”

The Hon Linda Burney also expressed her admiration for the facilities, stating: “I have worked as an Educator for most of my life. Early childhood education, and early intervention, are some of the most important issues facing young people today. It is wonderful to see such a high quality early education facility come to Earlwood, that will go on to shape education for the next generation.

Earlwood Montessori Academy is an early learning facility for children under six. The service is currently taking enrolments and is expected to open as soon as Service Approval is granted by the Department of Education.
