Montessori Academy opens their sixth childcare in the Canterbury-Bankstown region

On Saturday 19th March 2022, Montessori Academy Group celebrated the Grand Opening of their 41st Australian childcare centre in the leafy suburb of Belfield NSW. The beautifully refurbished long day care pays homage to architectural integrity of the former Belfield RSL-club and will bring Montessori education to the local Belfield community.

The refurbished Belfield childcare centre is located on the corner of Bazentin Street and Persic Street and delivers Montessori Academy’s renowned early education programs for infant, toddler, and preschool children in a long day care format.

To celebrate the grand opening of this new Belfield early learning centre, Belfield Montessori Academy hosted an Under the Sea-themed family fun day. Families and special guests enjoyed a BBQ luncheon, face-painting, balloon twisting, sydney childcare tours, and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Local friends, families, and neighbours graced the event including notable guests Ms Wendy Lindsay MP, Councillor Charbel Abouraad, Councillor George Zakhia, Councillor Nella Hall, Councillor Hugo Robinson, and Father Michael Lanzon.

Montessori Academy’s director Colette Assaf candidly shared, “I’m so proud of what the team have achieved with the refurbishment of this beautiful centre, and we can’t wait to service the local Belfield community.”

Architectural delights that have been conserved include the original building façade, the street-front ANZAC memorial, magnificent spiral staircase, and more.

Belfield Montessori Academy is currently enrolling infant, toddler, and preschool children across all age classrooms. The newly opened Canterbury-Bankstown childcare is licensed for 92-places and is open weekdays 7:30am to 6pm.
