New Early Education Centre for Engadine
A new early education centre is opening its doors in Engadine.
Engadine Montessori Academy is holding its grand opening on Saturday, from 9.30am to 1pm, and hopes to be operating by the end of the month.
The new early education facility caters for up to 75 children, aged between six weeks and 6-years-old, located on Waratah Rd.
The site was previously occupied by Dunlea Centre, a nearby high school for at-risk teenagers. It has since been renovated with five new Montessori classrooms, two project-based learning spaces, and two outdoor play areas.
It will be open for business as soon as it receives final approval from the NSW Department of Education. The centre hopes to get the green light to start operating by the end of the month.
The grand opening on Saturday will include speeches as well as a family fun day featuring information sessions, campus tours, a visit from Kindifarm, yoga classes, face painting, balloon twisting, and a barbecue lunch. It is free to attend.
“We feel deeply privileged, and excited, to have the opportunity to open a new Montessori Academy early learning centre here in Engadine,” Montessori Academy director Colette Assaf said.
“This historic location is a wonderful place for children to gain an introduction to Montessori education, which embraces each child’s individual learning style, developmental needs, and interests.”
When it opens, the centre will be open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm.
