On December 4th 2016, Montessori Academy had the pleasure of being invited to hold a stall at the Greenacre Family Fun Day on December 7th, 2016. The event, run by the Greenacre Area Community Centre, was held in -conjunction with the Greenacre Public Library.
Many Greenacre families attended the event which included a jumping castle, GymBus, petting zoo and face-painting for the children, and free coffee and a sausage sizzle for the adults.
Montessori Academy held a cupcake decorating stall, allowing children to be creative with icing, sprinkles and chocolate chips. It proved a popular activity, with children enjoying the chance to get creative and messy, and leaving with a beautifully decorated sweet treat at the end!
It was also a great opportunity to introduce the wider Greenacre community to the Montessori philosophy. With material demonstrations been given by our Greenacre educators, interested parents left more knowledgeable about the Montessori curriculum.
In addition, as our Greenacre campus is only located around the corner, our Greenacre Preschoolers had an excursion to the festival. They all had a wonderful time playing on the GymBus, attending storytime and receiving a free book, and meeting and greeting the farmyard animals.
We want to thank the Greenacre Area Community Centre for inviting us to be part of this wonderful event! We look forward to it being held again.
