On Friday 14 November Montessori Academy hosted its first Gala Charity Ball to raise much needed funds for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The event was held at the Ivy Ballroom and attended by more than 200 guests from Montessori Academy and a number of sponsoring companies.

Director of Montessori Academy, Colette Assaf, expressed her passion for the fundraising project and its life affirming cause.

“Montessori Academy is founded on the belief that children are both a hope and a promise to mankind.

“To support this hope within our wider community Montessori Academy have chosen to fundraise for the life-affirming cause that is the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

“We hope that these funds will support the Children’s Hospital in their vision, to provide excellence in health care, and provide thousands of children and their families with hope for a happier, healthier and brighter future,” she said.

The Gala Charity Ball was hosted by children’s entertainer, Sam Moran, and featured performances by Benjamin Mourad, Jayden Lampasi, Ray Isaac and The Carnival – A Circus Opera by Charody Productions.

The evening raised more than $28,000 for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead through ticket prices, fundraising and a raffle.

Colette Assaf, said: “Our hope is that through ongoing fundraising we will be able to assist the hospital in building their strength as a leading provider of health care and education to promote healthy kids for a healthy future.

“We look forward to raising funds for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for many years to come,” she said.
