On Saturday 27th June more than 200 families gathered to celebrate Montessori Academy’s first Community Open Day at Macquarie Park.

The relaxed BBQ styled event allowed parents and children to test out the centre’s Montessori materials, play in the beautiful outdoor area, attend Montessori Workshops, and tour the facilities.

Entertainment on the day included face painting, a magician, sausage sizzle and plenty more to suit the whole family.

General Manager for Centre Operations, Meray Parsons, said that the Macquarie Park Open Day was a great opportunity for local families to have a three-dimensional experience with Montessori Education.

“It was fantastic to see parents and children working with the Montessori materials, talking to our Educators and Management Team, playing in the sandpit, riding tricycles around the centre, and really getting a feel for what our new Macquarie Park centre has to offer,” she said.

Attendance at the event exceeded 350 people, clearly demonstrating the demand for the new childcare service, and the strong willingness within the local community to learn about Montessori Education and how it can benefit young children.

“We can’t wait to open our Macquarie Park centre and start getting to know our new families. This is truly unique and diverse community that we greatly look forward to becoming part of,” says Meray.

Macquarie Park Montessori Academy is expected to open in July this year pending Service Approval by the Department of Education and Communities.

The centre will be open Monday – Friday from 7:30 am – 6:00pm and is currently taking expressions of interests for children aged six weeks to six years.
