On Friday the 7th of August Montessori Academy celebrated Jeans for Genes Day.

Across Montessori Academy centres students and staff wore jeans to raise funds and awareness for life-saving genetic research that will help achieve the vision of a world without childhood diseases.

The money raised from the events will go on to help scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.

Throughout the day children learned about the importance of giving to improve the overall wellbeing of society, and how genetics play an important role in who we are.
