Montessori Academy is excited to announce that the construction and refurbishment of Gymea Montessori Academy, located at 123 Gymea Bay Road, is now complete. The centre is on schedule to open to the public in October 2015.
General Manager for Centre Operations, Meray Parsons, said that the Montessori Academy Team were very excited to be bringing the Montessori Academy difference to Gymea.
“Our new Gymea centre will approach early childhood education with an authentic Montessori focus that cultivates and nurtures each child’s full development potential.
“The centre will deliver Montessori Academy’s signature point of difference, which includes: caring and passionate early childhood professionals, exceptional outdoor play areas, and a learning environment that thoroughly prepares children for the challenges they will face at school and in life,” says Meray.
At present Montessori Academy’s Centre Setup Team are completing the fit out of the centre, which involves setting up the Montessori classrooms, enhancing the natural outdoor play area, and establishing the infrastructure for centre operations.
Gymea Montessori Academy will be the first Montessori long day care centre to open in the Sutherland Shire that caters to children aged six weeks to six years.
The centre is built on the grounds of the old St Catherine Laboure Church Hall, which has been a landmark within Gymea Village and the greater Sutherland Shire since 1959.
Meray Parsons said: “It’s fantastic that we have been able to transform the old St Catherine’s Church Hall into an educational childcare facility that will go on to serve the needs of the community.
“We’re greatly looking forward to opening the centre and meeting all of our new families and students,” she said.
