Gymea Montessori Academy celebrated the centre’s first birthday on Friday 25th November with an afternoon tea for families and staff.

The event included a visit from Kindifarm, who brought a host of furry friends for the children to meet and greet. All children had the opportunity to help feed the animals, and hold a rabbit or duck!

Over a healthy and delicious afternoon tea educators and teachers shared stories from the year, with many marveling at the progress of the children.

Centre Manager Vanessa Petrovski expressed her delight at seeing the children embrace the Montessori work cycle over the past year, and also forming classroom communities with their peers.

She also commented on how seamlessly Gymea Montessori Academy had fitted into the local community. The campus shares premises with St Catherine Laboure Parish, and St Catherine Laboure Catholic Primary School and has become part of everyday life for many Shire residents.

The event was a great success, and was a wonderful way to start the weekend for staff and families alike!
