Construction has Commenced at Earlwood Montessori Academy
To help meet increasing demand for high quality educational childcare in Sydney’s inner suburbs, Montessori Academy has committed to providing a new childcare centre at 32 Fricourt Avenue, Earlwood. Construction has commenced on site is expected to be complete in December 2016.
Works include renovating and refurbishing the former Earlwood Ex-Servicemen’s Club to provide a 90-place Montessori early education and care campus for children aged six weeks to six years.
The design by Liskowski Architects aims to retain the integrity of the existing building, while incorporating a contemporary new design that caters to the complete development needs of children under six.
Director of Montessori Academy, Colette Assaf, said that she and the team are incredibly excited to be bringing the Montessori philosophy of education to the families of Earlwood and the surrounding suburbs.
“We can’t wait to open our doors so that we can show the community how the Montessori environment, self-correcting materials, and guiding role of our teachers, prepares children with the skills and experience they need to excel at school, and achieve their full potential.
“Montessori education is designed to provide children with strong early learning foundations because it is scientifically based on how children learn. They learn experientially.
“By providing children with hands-on learning experiences, Montessori maximises children’s learning during the most crucial stage in their development, the first six years of life,” said Colette Assaf.
The construction of Earlwood Montessori Academy is part of Montessori Academy’s exciting growth plan from 2016 – 2017, which includes the development of three new childcare centres across Sydney.
Completion of these new locations, including Earlwood, Engadine and Clovelly, will take Montessori Academy’s total locations to 29 worldwide.
