On Tuesday 23rd June Montessori Academy officially opened the doors of its newest childcare centre located at 12 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park.
Managing Director of Montessori Academy, Colette Assaf, said: “With the opening of our new Macquarie Park centre, Montessori Academy has achieved its mid-term goal of operating 20 childcare centres across Australia and overseas.
“This is a huge milestone for our people, our business partners, and for our community of families. Thank you all for being a part of this special celebration,” she said.
The event provided guests with the opportunity to take a first look at the new Macquarie Park centre, meet the Montessori Academy Team, and attend Montessori Workshops focused on Practical Life, Sensorial Education, Mathematics, Language, Arts and Culture.
General Manager of Centre Operations at Montessori Academy, Meray Parsons, said: “One of the most rewarding parts of my role is being part of the establishment of a new centre.
“This process can sometimes be complex, requiring multi-disciplinary participation, and immense determination. The result is a beautifully built childcare centre specifically designed to cultivate the interests and abilities of each unique child.
“Of course, a beautifully built centre is not complete without our families, children and the local community.
“We look forward to providing high quality educational care for 90 children in the Macquarie Park area, with 30 positions allocated to children under two.”
The Mayor of Ryde, Bill Pickering, officially declared the centre open by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and cake with colleagues Councillor Jerome Laxale, Councillor Craig Chung, Managing Director of Montessori Academy, Colette Assaf, and special guest, Monsignor Brian Rayner.
The Mayor congratulated Montessori Academy on establishing what he described as “One of the best childcare centres I have ever seen,” and pledged Ryde Council’s continued support for childcare and education to assist the families of Northern Sydney.
Macquarie Park Montessori Academy is expected to open in the coming weeks pending Service Approval by the Department of Education and Communities. The centre will be open Monday – Friday from 7:30 am – 6:00pm and is currently taking expressions of interests for children aged six weeks to six years.
