On Wednesday 23rd September Montessori Academy celebrated the Grand Opening of its 22nd childcare centre at the exciting new development, Little Saigon Plaza, in Bankstown.
The event was attended by more than 200 guests from the local community, including the newly appointed Mayor of Bankstown, Khal Asfour, and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Players Trent Hodkinson and Michael Lichaa.
Montessori Academy’s General Manager for Centre Operations, Meray Parsons, said this new development is another major milestone for Montessori Academy’s rapidly growing community.
“At Montessori Academy the value of education is at the heart of everything we do. From the design and construction of our centres, through to the way we prepare our classrooms, to how meticulously we train our Educators, excellence in education is always at the core of our foundations.
“Bankstown Montessori Academy is no exception. This new centre will deliver Montessori Academy’s signature point of difference, including oasis like playgrounds, well-resourced classrooms, and the highest quality Montessori resources available internationally,” says Meray Parsons.
The Bankstown Grand Opening provided guests with the opportunity to test out the centre’s innovative indoor-outdoor learning spaces, meet the Bulldogs, attend Montessori Workshops, and tour the centre’s state-of-the-art facilities.
Montessori Academy’s Director, Colette Assaf, said that she was extremely excited to be bringing the Montessori Philosophy of Education to Bankstown, as it was where she lived and started her education as a young woman.
“Bankstown is an amazing City that is rich in culture, diversity, and opportunity. I feel so privileged to be opening a Montessori Academy childcare centre here in my own home town, and to contribute to the richness of education that this community has to offer the young minds, and the leaders, of tomorrow,” says Colette.
The Mayor of Bankstown, Khal Asfour, officially declared the centre open by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and cake with Montessori Academy’s Director, Colette Assaf, Montessori Academy’s General Manager for Centre Operations, Meray Parsons, special guest, Monsignor Brian Rayner, and Bulldogs Players, Trent Hodkinson and Michael Lichaa.
Montessori Academy’s Director, Colette Assaf, said: “Our new Bankstown centre will approach early childhood education from a Montessori perspective, offering an exceptional early learning experience that nurtures and supports each child’s full development potential.
“The centre’s educational program is designed to inspire children to dream big, pursue their talents and interests, and build solid foundations for future learning in the areas of mathematics, literacy, geography, art and culture.
“We are greatly looking forward to welcoming our new students and becoming a part of the Bankstown Community,” says Colette Assaf.
Bankstown Montessori Academy is now taking enrolment and is expected to open in October 2015, pending Service Approval by the Department of Education. The centre will provide long day care for children aged six weeks to six years.
