Free Autumn Printable

To celebrate the coming of autumn we have created our second set of free printables based around the new season!

Our Autumn Printable download includes the following activities:

– Deciduous and Evergreen cards

– A tree silhouette to decorate

These printables are suited for both Toddlers and Preschoolers. Click on the image below to download the printable, and remember to Pin this on Pinterest so others can find them.

Designed with Montessori principles in mind, these printables support hands-on, self-paced learning that encourages children to explore the changing season through play and creativity. Each printable invites children to observe, classify, and describe the world around them, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

As the days become cooler and the leaves begin to fall, autumn is the perfect time to introduce new vocabulary, explore seasonal colours, and engage in tactile, nature-based learning. Activities like these support cognitive development and provide meaningful connections to the environment.

What’s in the Printable Pack?

The coloured leaves can be used in sorting, patterning, or collage-making activities. Children can match leaves by colour, group them by size, or use them to decorate the included tree silhouette. This encourages classification and fine motor skills while celebrating the beauty of the season.

The number cards (1 to 10) support early numeracy. Use them to practise counting real-world objects such as leaves or pebbles. Laminate the cards to make them reusable or take them outside for active counting games.

The deciduous and evergreen labels are an excellent introduction to basic botanical knowledge. Help your child identify which trees lose their leaves and which stay green all year. This promotes observation and early science learning.

Landscape images spark discussion and storytelling. Ask your child what they see in each scene and how it might feel to walk through that environment. These prompts help build descriptive language and emotional awareness.

The tree silhouette is ideal for decorating with natural or craft materials. Children can glue paper leaves, paint autumn colours, or even use real leaves collected from outside. This project fosters creativity and connection to the natural world.

How to Extend the Learning

Consider pairing the printable with a short nature walk. Encourage your child to collect leaves, sticks, or small items from the ground, then match them to the leaves or colours in the printable. This builds a connection between the print activity and the real environment.

Create a simple “Autumn Discovery Table” at home using found objects, the completed printable activities, and seasonal storybooks. This reinforces learning through repetition and allows children to revisit the materials at their own pace.

You can also introduce songs or rhymes about autumn to reinforce vocabulary. Repetition of seasonal language helps build memory and recognition while making learning fun and musical.

Learning Through the Seasons

At Montessori Academy, we believe that learning through the seasons helps children develop a deeper understanding of time, nature, and change. Incorporating seasonal printables into everyday learning routines provides structure, relevance, and joyful discovery.

We hope this autumn-themed printable brings inspiration to your home or classroom. Whether used for quiet time, shared family activities, or group learning, it offers a simple yet enriching way to engage young minds during this beautiful season.
