We proudly celebrated the grand opening of Montessori Academy’s first early learning centre in Dapto, Wollongong on Saturday, 26th October 2024. The event brought together over 400 guests for a joyous occasion filled with community spirit, learning, and excitement!
The day commenced with guided tours of our new facilities, culminating in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to officially mark the opening. Special guests, including Deputy Mayor Linda Campbell from Wollongong City Council, Father Francis Tran and Mr. William Walker from St John’s Catholic Church, and Principal Michelle Rodwell from St John’s Primary, shared inspiring remarks about the importance of early education in shaping our children’s futures.
Our founder, Colette quoted Saint Theophan, saying, “Of all the holy works, the education of children is the most holy”. As families explored our centre, they discovered our thoughtfully designed environment featuring four spacious classrooms- dedicated to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—and two vibrant outdoor playgrounds. Each area is crafted to foster engaging learning experiences that support children’s growth and development.
Our passionate educators and Family Care Team was available throughout the day to answer questions, showcase our specialised Montessori materials, and discuss our unique approach to nurturing creativity and independence in young learners. For the little ones, the day was filled with delightful activities. Children enjoyed face painting and balloon art, adding a touch of creativity to the festivities. Our official sporting provider, IFA Sports, also hosted a fun fitness activity, encouraging children to get active while having a great time. The celebration was made even more enjoyable with a selection of tasty snacks and desserts that delighted our guests. The great food and lively atmosphere created a wonderful sense of community as families mingled and made lasting memories.
The success of our opening day is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated staff and the incredible families who joined us. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and made this event a memorable celebration.
